Venue Details
Cercedilla is a small village in the mountains near Madrid. The school will be held in the Universidad Politècnica de Madrid's student house. The student house has a range of facilities to make your stay more pleasant including en suite bathrooms, swimming pool, bars and restaurants in the village.
Residencia Lucas Olazabal
The Residence Lucas Olazabal is located in Cercedilla, in the forest of the Sierra de Guadarrama, in a place known as Las Dehesas de Cercedilla, which is 50 km. far from Madrid, and 15 km far from Navacerrada.
How to go to Cercedilla from Madrid-Barajas airport
The nearest airport is Madrid-Barajas. Once you are in Madrid, the best option to go to Cercedilla is by train from Nuevos Ministerios Train Station.
The estimated time of the whole trip (from Barajas airport to Cercedilla Residence) is around 2 hours.
How to go to Nuevos Ministerios Train station from the airport?
There are two options. You can take the Metro (subway) or a taxi.
If you take the subway (see the map of Madrid's subway network), you might also have to use the local bus service depending on which Terminal you arrive. There are two options:
If you arrive at Terminal 1, 2 or 3 in Barajas Airport:
- Take line 8 (the pink line on the map) at the airport until you arrive to Nuevos Ministerios stop.
If you arrive at Terminal 4 in Barajas Airport:
- Take the bus 201 that goes straight from Terminal T4 until you arrive to Barajas Metro Station (AV.LOGROÑO-C° VIEJO DE HORTALEZA bus stop)
- Take line 8 (the pink line on the map) at Barajas Metro station until you arrive to Nuevos Ministerios stop.
The Bus cost is 1.00EUR and the Subway cost is 1.00EUR If you take this way, the total time from Airport to Nuevos Ministerios train station will be around 45 min
If you go by taxi from the airport to Nuevos Ministerios train station, the costs will be about 25EUR and the time will be around 15 minutes.
Going by train to Cercedilla
The train leaves from Nuevos Ministerios train station, and arrives to Cercedilla's depot, which is located in the village of Cercedilla. You can check the train timetable on the website of renfe train company.

Getting to the Residence From Cercedilla

Going By car to he Residence
From Madrid, motorway A-6 until the exit El Escorial, Guadarrama.
Take direction Guadarrama until crossroads with the old N-6 (it is a crossroads with traffic lights where you can see El Piquio Hotel).
Turn left and cross Guadarrama village until Cercedilla indication (it is a road on the right, next to a headquarters).
Go straight on road until Cercedilla.
When you pass the Cercedilla’s train station, go straight on next crossroads Las Dehesas - La Fuenfría direction. When you arrive to forest information turn right following Residencia Lucas Olazábal UPM direction.
